Arbutus Bay House

Our Galiano Island home is a two-story wood frame building sitting on one and-one-half acres of waterfront. This spectacular low bank oceanfront home makes the perfect retreat for an adult only vacation. Wonder down to the shore for some beachcombing or relax in the hot tub (house rental only) on the outside deck.

It is designed as an open concept living, consisting of a living room, kitchen and dining room, all with a view of the ocean. Various boats of all shapes and sizes go through Active Pass on a regular basis. A three-piece bathroom with shower as well as laundry room ( washer/dryer ) and media room completes the downstairs floor plan-there is a pull out sofa, if needed, in the den (media room) with a wood burning heater. A large deck completely surrounds the house with a hot tub overlooking the ocean.

The gourmet kitchen is well equipped with granite counters and modern appliances including, cooking utensils, dishwasher, microwave and ice maker. A fitness centre with walker, weights, elliptical, and exercise bike are available for adult use.

A formal dining area for any occasion or enjoy your coffee at the breakfast nook. There is a small pebble beach in front of our property. The rest of the frontage is sandstone with a safe gradual slope to the waters edge. There is also a beautiful sandy beach in our bay. ( a 5 minute walk from our property )

This beautiful home sleeps up to 8 persons, and all linens are supplied. Three bedrooms on the upper floor - two queen bedrooms & a master suite, all have a view of the ocean. The master bedroom has a King size bed as well as HD TV, a 3-piece en-suite with shower and its own deck with breath taking vistas. The other two bedrooms share a 4-piece bathroom.

Media centre includes - Cable/Satellite TV, DVD, VCR, CD Player and Stereo system.

Curl up and relax in front of the fire after a day of beachcombing, hiking or some serious R & R.

Two sets of lawn furniture are included as well as a large picnic table (seats 8) for outdoor dining as well as a gas BBQ grill. See our rates.

Arbutus Bay Cottage

The family cottage is located on waterfront property privately situated a good distance behind the main house. It is set amongst the fir trees, just a short walk away from the water's edge where one can view the many large and small vessels that make their way through the waters of Active Pass. The panoramic view of the Straits of Georgia and the other Gulf Islands is magnificent and very relaxing.

Arbutus Bay Cottage has a bright & sunny dining area... you may choose to have your coffee on the deck or down by the water's edge to watch the birds interact with the tides.

The kitchen is fully equipped with electric range, fridge, dish washer, microwave and coffee maker. There is also a washing machine for your convenience.

This cozy cottage has satillite, T.V., radio, VCR, DVD, sun-deck, lawn furniture, electric fireplace and a gas BBQ.

This two bedroom cottage features two single beds in the upstairs bedroom, while the downstairs bedroom has a queen size bed. There is also a pull out queen chesterfield (sofa) for groups larger than four people ( extra charge applies - see rates ). The bathroom has both shower and tub.

The Arbutus tree grows on the southern west coast of British Columbia. The leaves remain all year long yet the orange bark sheds continuously and the bright red berries, when ripe, make for a feast for the local birds.
