Galiano Island is the first stop on the ferry enroute to the Gulf Islands from the Vancouver mainland's BC Ferries - Tsawwassen Ferry Terminal, 35 min. south of down town Vancouver. You can drive onto the Gulf Island ferry, the ride is approx. 50 min. long and you get off at the first stop at Sturdies Bay on Galiano Island. It is best to make reservations in advance when travelling by car from Tsawwassen to Galiano Island as some weekends fill up months in advance.
Alternatively, from Vancouver Island, take the ferry from BC Ferries - Swartz Bay Ferry Terminal, outside Victoria.
