Ann's Acres is supremely calm and peaceful.
A big raven lives in a tree top behind the house and sometimes you can hear
the 'whoosh' of the wings before you see him glide over the fields.
Romance is bound to grab you and children are welcome. The winding driveway
is paved and perfect for practicing bike skills or for testing roller blades.
Enjoy having a cold drink on the porch, watching the dragon flies flit about
in the golden afternoon light while the children are exploring the fields.
Dinner is cooking on the barbecue....
Eat your breakfast in the morning sun
on the patio outside the kitchen. Gazing at the gold fish in the pond is better
than TV. A Great Blue Heron has been known to drop by for breakfast trying to
catch the fish.
There is plenty of firewood for the
fireplace in the living-room and lots of room for friends and family to gather.
The stereo with CD and cassette player has excellent sound so bring your favorite
music and dance the night away. The wooden chest hosts a treasure of older LP's.
Snuggle up in the window seat and watch the deer come by every afternoon to
decimate the flowers in the meadow.
The pine kitchen was built by a
local boat builder and is well equipped with essentials like an espresso machine.
It includes a walk in pantry, skylight, dishwasher (so quite you can run it
while you are in the living room), microwave, gas stove, "side by side"
fridge and freezer.
The sunny eating area, which seats 6-10, has French doors that open out on
to the patio by the goldfish pond.
Fall asleep in the sleigh bed in
the master bedroom, listening to the frogs croak.
Feather duvets, cotton linen and plush towels are provided.
Although there is electricity, heat, telephone and a fax machine, there is
no TV on Ann's Acres.
It makes for a more peaceful holiday.
The second bedroom sleeps 2 and both
single beds have
wool or feather duvets. The skylight makes this a favorite with children.
Various games like Monopoly, Chess, Chinese Checkers and Backgammon are available
for your use.
The full bathroom has a tub & shower
as well as a skylight. There is also a spacious mud room with a washer and dryer.
Easy to dry wet towels after a long day at the beach or muddy boots after a day
of exploring outside the stream and forest at the back of the house.
Note: * The Annex is rented only
with the Main House.
The Annex is a quiet retreat for reading and a cup of afternoon tea
(an electric tea kettle is provided - no other cooking facilities in the Annex)
or get a few hours of work done while the family enjoys the outdoors.
This extra "room" is perfect for large families, friends or grandparents.
Perfectly private for a late afternoon
snooze. Peaches ripen on the wall outside in September. The Annex makes it so easy to share
your holiday.
The Annex consists of one big, spacious and calm bedroom with one single
bed, one queen-size bed and a two-piece bathroom.
Once you arrive on Ann's Acres it is only 3 minutes by car or 15 minutes by
bike to Montaque Harbour Provincial Park and its white crushed shell
beaches, shallow waters and a boat-launching site. At the
Marina
next door
you can rent kayaks and explore the hidden coves and natural sand-stone
sculptures along the coast line. On your way home, after a long day of
paddling or at the beach, you stop at the Marina and consume a cold beer or
an ice cream on their veranda, overhanging the ocean.
